For my Mise-en-Scene recreation task I chose to recreate an iconic scene from the 2004 original picture, Mean Girls.
I chose the scene where Regina George( the main "antagonist") gets hit by a bus, after a pivotal argument with the main "protagonist" ( Cadey Heron). I understand how morbid that must sound however she is completely fine throughout the continuation of the movie. I decided to chose this scene in the movie because I thought it was the most emotionally encapsulating scene, as the protagonists facial expressions finally show how she feels about the "antagonist". After the protagonist does some horrible things to her and she feels already remorseful because of her actions, the "antagonist" is apart of a brutal accident that Cadey has to witness; she and everyone around her feel as if she was at fault of the accident. The raw emotion caught through the facial expressions of Cadey as well as her monologue , where she expresses what others thought of her actions. The Camera work I tried my best to recreate, meticulously was difficult at first, especially when filming with people who don't know anything about media or camera work. My actors may have thought I was being over the top , but I think I should've paid more attention to detail when filming but I will only get better with time and practise.
