Editing Video task and learner response
1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.
- Good engaging sequence that meets the brief
- Door opening moment is not match - on - action which confused me(feels more like a jump cut though not officially this). However the match on action for the chair sequence was superb.
- 180 degree rule observed well - some shots right on the line(overhead of characters) which was interesting.
- lighting superb on suspect being interrogated but camera seemed to struggle with the low-light conditions, at the beginning of the clip.
- Some nice framing of OTS shots but wide two shot had characters very close together which was a surprise.
2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.
WWW -
- amazing lighting
- great tension building
- good match on action
EBI -
- pay closer attention to angles
3) Now reflect on your video. Did you meet the brief and successfully include the three key editing aspects we have learned?
I think I met the brief successfully. Three key aspects I have learned are how to execute my positioning of lighting, how to do match on action successfully and how to follow or break the 180 degree rule.
4) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your final film? Write a detailed analysis picking out specific shots, edits and any other aspect of film language you think is relevant.
Some of my strengths were my lighting, which I used to rely my characters roles, as I had a bright spotlight on my character that was being interrogated and a dark blue light to show the authority of my police officer.

5) Learner response: what aspect of editing did you find most difficult? What have you learned from this process that will help you when you start the actual coursework later this year?
Finding the right music for the video is one of the hardest things so for coursework later this year I will make such to know my concept and try and finish it so I can allocate the right music to my video.
