Coursework: Preliminary exercise feedback and LR

 1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.

WWW:

  • Slick editing through your range of camera shots and movement
  • Mise-en-scene reinforces your brand identity e.g. use of costume, baggy costume, use of lip gloss

EBI:

  • Intro and outro are too long – would not fully meet the music video conventions
  • Consider your text at the end – is all this necessary for a trailer – core information would be more useful

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your work.

- hiphop music video conventions
- mise-en-scene is a strength
- brand identity included well
 - good camera work

EBI -
- add release date
- intro too long
- lipsyncing timing a little off

3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?

I think I followed my statement of intent to the T, accurately following everything laid out in it

4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?

Typography consistency, longer clips of the actual music video

5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything about your actual coursework video plan? This could include your concept, cast/actors or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork or editing.

I will use mixed media in this music video to show the alternative side of the band and different costumes for each part of the music video
